As said earlier in connection with the C.A.M. Pre/Tank-series, C.A.M. did entertain two promo-only soundtrack series´, the second being the C.A.M. Cml-series (what Cml does in fact mean, is out of my guessing). This series is actually the best example for a library-only soundtrack-series: no info regarding the (mostly) movies, these tracks were lifted from, no info regarding directors, actors, ... in fact no info at all, except composer and musical style!

The second noteworty difference to the C.A.M. Pre/Tank-series is its longelivety: it was founded in the late 60ies (either at the same time as the C.A.M. Pre/Tank-series or even a few months earlier!) and lasted into the 80ies (the latest issue I own dates from 1979, but this issue is not the last issue manufactured ...). In this period covering more than 10 years, more than 100 recordings were issued, making this series the largest C.A.M.-series together with the C.A.M. SAG-series (in fact they started at the same time and I would not be surprised if they "deceased" at around the same time ...).

Nevertheless, the Cml-series is still hardly known ... One reason is of course, that this abundant lack of any reliable info does not appeal to the "common" (smile) soundtrack-collector, the other ones are their scarcity in association with their usual high prices, should one of them show up. Put together, many collectors back off, when they are asked to shell out a lot of "dough" for uncertain musical returns.

That is in fact also the reason, why I am not able to shed any more light into this mythical series. Owing myself just a few Cml-releases (the reluctance to pay a lot of money for uncertain returns is also shared by my little self ...), I put them and the above info on this site to share them ... but also to hope for more info coming in ...
